VBV Law Group (“VBV Law,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides legal services in California. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our website and when you contact us for a consultation.

California laws referenced: the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA, Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §22575 et seq.), and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA, Cal. Civ. Code §1798.100 et seq.). We also reference the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA, 15 U.S.C. §§6501–6506) and CAN-SPAM (15 U.S.C. §7701 et seq.).

Personal information we collect

You provide: name, email, phone number, and a free-text description of your matter via site forms.
Automatically collected: IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, timestamps, and basic analytics via cookies and similar technologies (see Cookie Policy).

CPRA categories

  • Identifiers (e.g., name, email, phone).
  • Customer Records / Professional information (matter description you submit).
  • Internet/Network activity (log data, page interactions).
  • Geolocation (coarse) derived from IP.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information via the website. Please avoid submitting medical records, SSNs, financial account numbers, or other sensitive/privileged facts through web forms.

How we use personal information

  • To respond to inquiries, evaluate potential representation, schedule consultations, and manage conflicts.

Disclosing personal information

We disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers/contractors (hosting, security, email/SMS, analytics) under written agreements.
  • Professional advisors for conflict checks/confidential tasks.
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect rights/safety.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by CPRA. If that changes, we will update this Policy and provide opt-out tools.

Retention

Inquiry records that do not lead to engagement are retained for 12 months and then deleted or de-identified, unless we must keep them longer for legal/ethical reasons (e.g., conflicts).

Your California privacy rights (CPRA)

Subject to exceptions, California residents can request to:

  • Know/Access the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected.
  • Delete personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Limit use/disclosure of sensitive personal information (not routinely collected here).
  • Opt out of sale/share (not applicable under our current practices).

Children’s privacy (COPPA)

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us to request deletion.

Email and text marketing (CAN-SPAM/TCPA)

If you opt into updates, you may unsubscribe via the link in any email or reply STOP to SMS. Message/data rates may apply. Marketing is optional and not a condition of services.

Do Not Track (CalOPPA)

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. We do not currently respond to DNT. We may update this notice if our practices change.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the data we process. No system is 100% secure. Please do not send highly sensitive or privileged information through website forms.
